Ender nail: is an intramedullary device used in internal fixation of fractures after the fragments have been reduced. Ender nails are slightly curved, semi-elastic, and round in cross-section. They are used for treatment of intertrochanteric, femoral, humeral, and tibial fractures. Use of multiple Ender nails provides improved rotational stability; fanning of the proximal ends helps control rotation. Fractures at the insertion site may sometimes complicate use of Ender nails.
