Philips S5-1 sector ultrasound probe tested on a Philips iE33 ultrasound system (not included). The probe produces strong 2D images and demonstrates vascular and hepatorenal imaging capability based on in-house testing. Unit presents in good cosmetic condition. Clients are requested to review all provided images to make an informed purchasing decision.
Condition Summary:
Probe is in overall good cosmetic condition with light signs of prior clinical use, including minor scratches and scuffs. No major cracks or structural damage observed.
- Connector: Connector and locking mechanism are intact with no bent pins or damage observed.
- Cable: Approximate cable length is ~8 feet. Cable is free from cuts or tears. May show light cosmetic scuffs from handling, but insulation remains intact throughout.
- Head & Handle: Probe head and handle are in good condition with no significant cracks noted. Housing is structurally sound.
- Lens: Lens appears smooth with no visible gouges, dents, or delamination.
Functionality / Testing Summary:
Air Scan: Performed. Probe produces ultrasound response. Clients are requested to review provided images.
Phantom Scan: Attempted; however, we are unable to comment on the phantom scan results using our in-house phantom. Clients are requested to review images.
Body Scan / Vascular & Hepatorenal Testing:
- Echocardiography was not performed.
- Right-sided vascular scan was completed with imaging of the right carotid artery; blood flow appears fair on color Doppler.
- Hepatorenal scan was performed by placing the probe at the Right Upper Quadrant (RUQ) to evaluate echotexture of two solid organs (liver and kidney). Images are provided for client review.
- No other body parts were scanned.
2D Imaging:
2D images appear strong and clear.
Color Doppler:
Color flow observed during carotid imaging; however, full color performance evaluation was not possible due to testing limitations.
No first-call or manufacturer performance report is available.
Probe was tested on a Philips iE33 system (not included).
