Short description:

Optim FL30 ENT 3.6 mm flexible fiber optic pharyngoscope / nasopharyngoscope. Scope produces image and passes light; however, unit is being sold for parts or repair due to failed upward angulation control and numerous broken fibers (black dots) visible both to naked eye and during endoscopic imaging. Fiber optic light bundle is present but no light source adapter is included. No storage case included.

  • Exterior shows light cosmetic wear consistent with normal clinical use.
  • Scope body is intact with no major dents or cracks observed.
  • Insertion tube is in good physical condition with no buckling, pinching, or kinks.
  • Angulation section remains flexible.
  • Eyepiece is in good condition.
  • Fiber optic light bundle is physically intact.

 

Functionality:

 

  • Testing was performed using a compatible endoscopy/video system.
  • Scope connects and produces live image on monitor.
  • Optics transmit image; however, numerous black dots / broken fibers are present, visible both to the naked eye and during endoscopic examination.
  • Focus adjustment mechanism operates correctly.
  • Downward angulation functions normally.
  • Up-and-down angulation lever is loose; upward angulation does NOT actuate the distal tip.
  • Insertion tube articulates freely.
  • Fiber optic light bundle cable with connector measures approximately 5 feet in length.
  • Fiber optic connector does NOT include a light source adapter — buyer must use their own adapter depending on light port selection.
  • Due to failed upward angulation control and multiple broken fibers, this scope requires repair before any clinical use.

Buyer is responsible for determining suitability for their intended application and for arranging any inspection, refurbishment, or certification prior to clinical use.
